The narrow top of the tab slides in between the player and the inner case. The tab that holds the the iPod up when it is in "kickstand" mode looks like it goes in the docking port.
She loves green so I found this case. I upgraded to a 2nd Gen Touch and gave my workhorse 3rd gen Nano to my wife.
The iPod fits perfectly and all inputs and buttons are accessible. It is as advertised.
The leather is top-grain and soft. It does not.
The player then sits on the wider part of the tab.There is a clear plastic cover that protect the screen and the flap has a very powerful magnet that keeps the flap closed.All in all this is a great case that is sure to keep your iPod protected.
